Games & consoles Game Boy Color

The price of a used Game Boy Color depends mostly on its colour, its overall condition and what comes with it: box, manual, accessories. Some colours and special editions are far more sought after than the standard models. At Flip Jeux Vidéo, every console is tested and assessed according to its condition, which explains the price gaps between two similar consoles.

Limited editions and colours tied to a franchise or to a specific market are the most coveted among collectors, far more than the standard models. Their value depends heavily on the overall condition of the console and on its original packaging. If you think you have a rare model, our team can evaluate it free of charge.

Yes. The Game Boy Advance plays Game Boy Color games as well as original Game Boy games. Conversely, an original Game Boy cannot run games exclusive to the Game Boy Color. If you have any doubt about a specific title, our team in store can help.

The Game Boy Color, released in 1998, replaces the Game Boy's monochrome screen with a colour screen and adds a faster processor and an infrared port. It remains compatible with original Game Boy games, but also runs titles exclusive to it. It stays more compact and easier on batteries than the 1989 console.

Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal lead by a wide margin, followed by Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, as well as the colour versions of Link's Awakening. These titles sell quickly and their value rises sharply when they are complete with box and manual. Browse the collection online to see what is in stock right now.
